BC Tango is bringing to Vancouver for the first time to Juan Santillan ‘El Diablo Santiagueño”, a true Master of Argentinian Folklore together with two great and unique representatives of Tango and Folklore already popular with our Vancouver and BC audiences: Claudio Otero and Elizabeth Roccella. What a trio !!! Vancouver is very grateful to have such quality teachers, choreographers and performers and one more time living the moment that will be very difficult to forget. Juan Santillan the Diablo Santiagueño will be performing with Claudio Otero dancing alone or together with the Boleadoras plus the Tango by Claudio and Elizabeth.
We are pleased to have Juan Santillan for the first time in Vancouver. He was born in northern Argentina and is a world renowned innovator of Argentine Folklore specializing in his spectacular use of the Argentine cowboys’ boleadoras. Juan was discovered at the age of 16 by a well known harmonica player, Hugo Diaz, at the Cosquin Music Festival. Argentina and Buenos Aires. Juan’s many international credits include “Casino de Paris’ in Paris, Sun City South Africa, Harrah’s Lake Tahoe and The Command Performance for The Queen of England at The London Palladium. He was a featured act in Bally’s Jubilee. He makes his home in Las Vegas and he is happy to return to Vancouver, a city he has come to enjoy while working for Royal Caribbean Cruises.
In addition to the Folklore, Vancouver is pleased also to welcome once again the dynamic and very talented duo of Claudio Otero and Elizabeth Roccella who will delight us with her mastery dancing and teaching Tango, Vals and Milonga. Be in tune for the workshops of folklore by el Diablo Santiagueño with Zamba Argentina of course with its display of grace and the moves that makes this dance very special to be learnt as well as Escondido and Chacarera doble.
Join me for a fabulous weekend of Folklore and Tango !
