This Sunday — La Garua returns with all the fanfare of the month of February!

Did you know that February was named after the Latin februum, which means purification, via the purification ritual Februa held on February 15 (full moon) in the old lunar Roman Calendar? That it has also been the month of the pearl, mud month, month of ice, month of cutting wood, month for the Superbowl? So it is written in wikipedia. I just associated it with Saint Valentine’s day.

Did you know that http://www.todotango.com/english/ features daily events in tango history? (for those of you interested in the names in the tango world) Check out who’s featured each day from now until February 8th and see if you recognize any of the names.

Ah…. but best of all ….. February, well known as the month of romance and love in its many forms. Come this Sunday, Feb. 8 and express your love for tango. We await your entry with open arms and abrazos.

Wear your love color choice and pick your best shoes to carry the hearts of your dancing partners into a world of pleasure and connection. Share a wonderful evening of dance and music, with Ken Brown spinning tandas from the Golden Age for your dance and listening enjoyment.

Please feel free to invite a friend, neighbor, and loved one to join you and us in something you love to do – dance tango. Let’s make this La Garua a milonga where every lead and follow is warmly welcomed in dance.

February 8, 5:30pm to 9pm
