John Hernan Raigoza & Yaisuri Salamanca are an award-winning professional Argentine tango couple with more than 15 years of performing experience. Their awards include third place in the stage tango category at the 2008 Tango World Championship, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Their style is based on traditional tango learned from Argentinian master dancers, enhanced by dancing techniques gained from training in ballet, jazz, and Latin dance. Their combined performance experience includes theaters from the West End, in London to Tango Houses and Milongas in the heart of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Yaisuri’s training includes classical ballet, salsa and traditional South American folk dances, all of which have enriched her dancing style and technique. She was a principal dancer in the 2012-2013 West End production of the musical Midnight Tango in London, England, and has also danced with the Tango Vivo dance company.

John started dancing tango in Buenos Aires in 1997, where he studied with tango masters such as Jorge Dispari, Gustavo Naveira, Gabriel Misse and Alejandra Mantinian. His personal style is based in traditional tango and informed by training in theater, contemporary dance, jazz, and salsa. John has danced with talented dancers such as Sol Cerquides and Verónica Salmerón, and performed in well-known Buenos Aires tango shows such as Sabor a Tango and Voz Tango.

Yaisuri and John’s combined style displays explosive strength and playful creativity, all in the service of authentically Argentine tango. They are currently based in New York City where they have been featured in tango shows at the Thalia Spanish Theater and Malbec Tango House, as well as performances at milongas and festivals, and in a recent gala at The United Nations. In addition to their performing prowess, Yaisuri and John are passionate about teaching. They have taught at milongas, festivals and dance studios in Argentina and the United States, and currently offer both weekly classes and private lessons in New York City.
