Hope to see you there... Miles discovered partner dancing in 2002, the same year he moved to the Seattle. Immediately he was taken by it. Abandoning a normal sleeping schedule, other hobbies and the bulk of his vacation time, he has since emerged himself in a life of late nights and achy feet. With the remainder of his energy Miles works full-time as a developer at Microsoft. Miles began teaching in 2007, getting his start as a tango instructor for the8thstyle.com. In 2008 he created the entity now known as BluesProgressions, where at first he taught Blues to couples living in the Redmond area. In 2009, he moved his classes to Seattle and focused his teaching on social Blues dancing, hoping to give something back to the community that has helped feed his dance appetite for so long. What does it involve being a follower? At the basic level they are opposites, at the highest level they are the same. A workshop on the mechanics and mindset of the leading role, and the technique and sensory journey of the following role. Wednesday 8th of September 7.30pm - 9.00pm Om Culture Studio 2210 N. Source/Kepler Guided Practica Civetta Dance Center 124 N 103rd St, Seattle $12 class+ practica, $8 practica only This Saturday before the practica (4-5pm) I will be teaching a one-time special topic class: Fundamentals of Tango Vals Tango Vals is one of the triumvirate of dances played at the milongas (tango, milonga, and vals) and uses flowing melodies in 3/4 time that call for a different style of dancing than one would use for a typical tango. In this all-levels class, we will discuss the fundamental vals timing and learn how to play with the music in a way that is compatible with vals rhythm.
