We will also practice navigation skills. If you have a favorite song/ composition and would like to try dancing tango to it, bring it to the exchange and we will try it together (NB not every music piece is suitable for dancing tango but it might be good for a cortina ;)) * on July 3d we will take some vals-like alternative music. 10–11pm – dancing (even if it’s a practica, I would still encourage tangueros to dance counterclockwise, in the regular line of dancing, if there are a lot of people, please dance in 2 lanes (outer and inner) Look forward to seeing you in 505 Studio! I’ve got a pretty decent collection of non-traditional music for tango dancing, which is quite ‘danceable’ and many of these compositions are pretty popular in Europe, and I am sure especially with practice and some tips you will for sure ENJOY this experience! I find dancing to some non-traditional music can be very relaxing, great for changing the mood in a milonga and even therapeutic :) in some way. By the way, a lot of non-traditional tango music I like to play are close in rhythmic structure to vals or milonga and neotango. If there are a lot of people and enough to keep on dancing then sometimes the practica can be prolonged. Trout Lake is on the south flank of Mount Adams, about 80 miles northeast of Portland, Oregon. We have rented the Grange Hall in Trout Lake. And, we have reserved the group camp site, for both Friday night and Saturday night, in the county camp ground, which is three blocks from the Grange Hall. The Camping Trip, Milonga and Practica will be June 25th and 26th 2010. Practica Friday night. Milonga Saturday night. DJ'd by Mike McCarrel. There will be a donation box to help offset the costs.
