Hello everyone, next Thursday May 12 I'm starting a new weekly dance in Ballard that some of you may be interested in. I'm calling the dance INFUSION, and my goal is to create a dance that's welcoming to both tango lovers and other dancers. It will be very beginner-friendly. All of the music will be alternative tango that's also danceable as another genre, e.g. waltz, foxtrot, blues, Latin, WCS. Tango newcomers like me will have the opportunity to practice, but can also relax with other more familiar dances. It can be hard on us newcomers to stick with tango all night. I'm hoping to lure some of you more experienced dancers too; I have a large & varied collection of alternative music.
It'll happen in the upstairs ballroom at Salmon Bay Eagles, 5216 20th Ave NW, which is just north of Leary; look for the FOE sign. It's a large room with high ceilings and a beautiful old hardwood floor. There's a full bar downstairs, and you can bring drinks upstairs with you.
It'll begin with an infusion-oriented class at 7 pm, dancing starting at 8 pm; $6 for the dance, $15 for the class, $20 for both. The club closes around midnight. You can read a bit more about it here, and there's parking info & a map here.
If you have questions, feel free to email. I go by waltz23, and I'm at gmail full stop com.
Thanks!
Zachariah Cassady
