I am from Vancouver and I am looking for a new pair of shoes, if possible 6.5cm heels. Do you have any places to recommended in Seattle to shop for good dancing shoes? We have very limited stores in Vancouver and I'll be in Seattle soon for a milonga, so I thought I would have a look at the same time!

Hi Anne-Marie. There are a few stores in Seattle that sell dance shoes, but your selection of quality tango shoes (i.e. Comme il Faut, Greta Flora, NeoTango) are mostly through private sales. I have a friend (Maggie Fukuda) who was selling a nice selection of Greta Floras as recently as several months ago. I'll check with her to see if she is still selling them. What is your shoe size? Are you open to used shoes? We do occasionally have a shoe exchange down here too. I hope to meet you at a milonga in the near future.

Hey Deborah! Thanks for the answer. I was planning to go next week to the Dec.17th Tango Holiday Party milonga? Maybe I will see you there. I usually wear size 10US, but I found it really hard to find 6.5cm heels shoes in my size. I am already tall so I don't want to have heels that are too high, and I think most of the 'well know' shoes brand don't make 6.5cm. I am also willing to look at other brands, like ballrooms shoes that might have nice designs (right now my shoes are Capezio and I am really happy about them, just that after more than a year the leather is too stretched!). I can also look at used shoes, but I need a pair now because my old ones are getting a little bit hard to dance with, so If I could get one pair of new or really good quality shoes now it would be awesome!!

Experience Shoes - http://www.experienceshoes.com/ You'll probably find more Capezios and general dance shoes, but they have a good selection.
Centerstage Dance Shop - http://www.centerstagellc.com/ I have not been here in years. I think they mostly cater to ballet, but you might find something.
Petticoat Junction - http://www.petticoatjct.com/ I've never been here. It's in Lynnwood (north of Seattle) and might be worth a try.
Art's Dance Shoes - http://artsdanceshoes.com/ I've never been here either, but it looks like they have shorter heels on their website. They're in Kirkland (east of Seattle)
