Saturday, May 21st: Tight turns with counter-body motion with special guest instructors
This Saturday you are in for a special treat. Monika Helendi and Marc Becraft will be giving a seminar on "Tight turns with counter-body motion," including skill-building exercises related to this theme. As many of you know, Monika is one of the most sought-after followers in Seattle's social tango dance scene. Her pivoting technique is remarkable. You will learn a great deal through watching her dance, dancing with her, and listening to her feedback. Marc, as well, is a very popular leader here in Seattle. Having studied and danced tango for over 15 years, he brings to his teaching a deeply analytical approach to the movements of tango. Both Monika and Marc share an appreciation for collaborative learning and community building around tango, and I am excited that they have agreed to be the guest instructors this weekend at the Open-Role Practica.
