What Is Tango Nuevo?
Tango Nuevo is a contemporary style of Argentine Tango that embraces innovation, improvisation, and a deep exploration of movement and connection.
It features:
Dynamic embrace: Open and close embrace transitions
Playful movement: Sacadas, ganchos, volcadas, soltadas and more
Musical variety: traditional to electronic, alt, and non-tango genres Tango Vals and Milonga
Creative freedom: Emphasizes structure, technique, and personal expression and partner connection
It’s not a separate dance from traditional Argentine Tango — it’s a modern evolution of the tango we love!
Why This Weekend Matters
This is more than a dance event — it’s a celebration of music, movement, and magic in one of the most vibrant cities in the U.S. Whether you’re looking to deepen your skills or connect with creative tango lovers, the Seattle Tango Nuevo Experience will inspire and delight.
Join us — let’s make tango history together!
I feel incredibly lucky to have Eduardo Saucedo in my life and to welcome him back to teach in Seattle. I have known him personally for over 25 years, and I never pass up a chance to dance, teach, prodece or just hang out with him. His presence is grounding, his insights are deep, and his energy elevates everyone around him. I don’t want people to miss out because they don’t know enough about him so here is part of his official bio from CITA, where Eduardo has not only been a long-time instructor but also a respected judge.
EDUARDO SAUCEDO is from Buenos Aires, Argentina, a Master Teacher and Dancer of Argentine Tango (all styles), Choreographer, DJ, MC, and Producer of Tango Shows, He is internationally recognized for his love and passion for the dance. Eduardo travels the world sharing his culture and knowledge of tango, bringing his message of Love, Passion, Joy, Life with Respect and Freedom for Peace in the World.
He considers Tango to be an admirable art form that expresses body, mind, spirit and soul. His professionalism, clear communication and positive energy motivates and inspires. His teaching is creative and practical focusing on subtle details of the movement and body language. His teaching blends reason, logic, emotions and personality to create a pure and authentic tango embrace.
Eduardo has complemented his training with studies in various dance disciplines as well as theatre and acting, and is a continuing student of the Performing Arts. He has performed in theatres, appeared on radio and television and taken part in various International Tango Festivals His presence in the classroom is uplifting and deeply motivating.
For over a decade, Eduardo has been a featured artist and instructor at CITA (Congreso Internacional de Tango Argentino) in Buenos Aires. He has taught and performed at iconic Buenos Aires milongas such as Salon Canning, Almagro, and El Viejo Correo, and spent ten years teaching at the legendary La Confitería Ideal, a cherished symbol of tango’s Golden Age. Eduardo’s creative vision has brought many productions to life, including the celebrated dinner show Tango Café – Una Noche Ideal, which ran for three successful seasons. His work has also been featured in the National Geographic series “Consequencias” (2010) and the European documentary “My First Tango” (2014).
He is based in Palermo, Buenos Aires, where he directs Studio Eduardo Saucedo — a dynamic space dedicated to tango and the performing arts. As you can see, Eduardo is the real deal. But beyond all the accolades and accomplishments, what truly makes him special is the way he touches hearts. When you meet him, you’ll understand why dancers around the world not only admire him — they love him.
This year, we’re lucky to host Eduardo twice in Seattle. Each visit will include a series of fun and enriching classes, along with vibrant social events, giving students to get to know Eduardo. He doesn’t just teach steps; he shares a deeper understanding of tango that stays with you long after the music stops.
Don’t miss your chance to experience his magic. You’ll walk away not only a better dancer, but more connected to the essence of tango.
