Thursday, January 29th 7-11pm will be a night to celebrate Argentine Tango at the Abbey!

The Round is a monthly event held at the Fremont Abbey (since 2005). It’s a multi-media arts affair of music, poetry, dance and painting (plus a post-event milonga this time!).

The Round 7:30 – 8:45pm (doors open at 7): Four rounds featuring live music by Ben Thomas (bandoneon) and Gabe Hall-Rodrigues (piano), poetry through tango lyrics read by Cristian Santesteban and sung by Carlos Moreno, film screening from Juliet McMains’s series of short films “Faces of Contemporary Tango”, live painting on stage throughout the night by Sylvia Kurin, and a mini-lesson for the general public at the end, taught by Greg Rolnick and Blair Kaufer from Reverie Ballroom.

9:00 – 11/11:30pm: After party milonga (dance social) with DJ Andrew Brown and a live set with Ben and Gabe.
